INTRODUCTION

Revelation 1
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

The literal meaning of the word "alpha" refers to the first letter of the Greek alphabet and "omega" the last.

This verse, on first glance, is among several bible verses that seem to support the doctrine of the trinity [or at least the deity of Christ], but if we dig deeper, the truth will be discovered.

Red-letter editions of the bible have Revelation 1:8 printed in red letters, telling us that these are the words of Jesus. By coloring the letters red instead of the usual black, the translators are guilty of private [one's own] interpretation, which II Peter 1:20 forbids.

II Peter 1:20
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

The word "private" comes from the Greek word idios, which means "one's own".

Thus, a more accurate translation is below:

II Peter 1:20
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of one's own interpretation.

Why can't Jesus be the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending?

The title of "Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord" can only refer to God himself because only God existed in the beginning.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Revelation 1:8 cannot be referring to Jesus, since he did not exist in the beginning.

Furthermore, look at these verses in Isaiah!

Isaiah 44:24
Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens ALONE; that spreadeth abroad the earth BY MYSELF;

Isaiah 48
12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
13 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

Since Jesus wasn't born until September 11, 3BC, he could not have been the first and last, a title reserved for God ONLY, which all ancient manuscripts of Revelation 1:8 are in agreement.

Matthew 1
1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

In verse 18 of Matthew 1, the definition of the word "birth" is the whole key to the correct understanding Revelation 1:8.

Definition of Genesis
noun, plural geneses [jen-uh-seez]
1. an origin, creation, or beginning.

Matthew 1:18 records Jesus' birth, which is his origin, his genesis, his beginning, the very first time he ever existed.

Astronomy, history, and scripture all converge on Wednesday, September 11, 3BC, between the hours of 6:18pm – 7:39pm Palestine time as the year, date and time of Jesus Christ's birth.

That is why Revelation 1:8 cannot be referring to Jesus as the alpha and omega, the beginning and ending.

Therefore, God the creator has to be the alpha and omega.

Now we need to handle two other nagging doubts you may have about this as well:

Notes on Genesis 1:26 - "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"

Notes on I Peter 1:20 - Jesus "was foreordained before the foundation of the world"

God has foreknowledge. He knows the past, present and future, so he can foretell the future with 100% accuracy, unlike fortune tellers of today. This is why he can have his true prophets tell of Jesus Christ's coming.

Why you can't use Ephesians 3:9 to prove that Jesus helped God create the universe!

Ephesians 3:9 [KJV]
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

See, this proves that we have Jehovah Jesus, the one who created the universe, right?

WRONG!

You must do your homework.

You must remember that we are in a spiritual competition!

The devil hates the bible and will try to corrupt it anytime, anywhere.

Find out why Ephesians 3:9 & Genesis 1:26 do not prove that Jesus created the heavens and earth.

What truths do the ancient biblical manuscripts of Revelation 1:8 reveal?

The Codex Sinaiticus, the oldest complete copy of the Greek New Testament in existence, dating back to the 4th century, has the word "God" after the word "Lord". See the screenshot below!

Codex Vaticanus

"The Codex Vaticanus is perhaps the most important of all the manuscripts of the Holy Scripture. The Codex Vaticanus is believed to be among the oldest copies of the Greek Bible in existence.

It is called so because it is conserved in the Vatican Library. The Codex Vaticanus is a quarto volume which is written in uncial letters of the 4th century, on folios of fine parchment bound in quinterns."

The Codex Vaticanus has the word "God" [theos] in this ancient manuscript after the word "Lord" [Kurios] - "Κύριος ὁ Θεός", just as in the screenshot of the 6 critical Greek texts below, but because of copyright laws, I cannot even display a screenshot of the manuscript! You can view the Codex Vaticanus here

6 out of 8 critical Greek texts [75%!] of Revelation 1:8 have the word "God" [theos] after the word "Lord" [Kurios] - "Κύριος ὁ Θεός", as you can see for yourself in the 6 red rectangles below.

As you can see from the screenshot below, the Mounce Reverse-Interlinear New Testament also has the word “God” after the word “Lord” in Revelation 1:8.

See the screenshot below of Revelation 1:8 from The Nestle-aland Greek text [28th edition], one of the most authoritative critical Greek texts out there & it has the word "God" after the word "Lord".

I know this is correct because I can see in the red rectangle the Greek word for God [theos] immediately after the word "Lord" [Kurios], just as in the previous screenshot of the 8 critical Greek texts.

The Nestle-aland Greek text is used in many many seminaries to teach Greek, which is translated below:

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty".

As you can see from the screenshot below of the St. Jerome's Latin Vulgate text from 390A.D. - 405A.D., the word "God" is present, right after the word "Lord", but was deliberately deleted from the King James Version, and many other versions as well.

Who deleted the word "God" from Revelation 1:8?

The bible interprets itself either in the verse or in the context.

Look at the context - the book of Jude is only 1 chapter [29 verses] before Revelation 1:8!

Jude 4
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

The certain men were people who were born of the seed of the serpent, sons of the devil whose sole job is to carry out their father's dirty work.

What does "deny" mean?

screenshot of the definition of deny in Jude 4 as it relates to the Felony Forgery of Revelation 1:8

There are 3 categories of antichrists:
1. An antichrist devil spirit
2. A person born of the seed of the serpent
3. The antichrist in the book of Revelation in the future

The forger of Revelation 1:8 deliberately removed the word "God" out of the verse, essentially "denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ".

This was caused by an antichrist spirit which is a devil spirit that is literally against Christ.

1 John 4:3
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2 John 1:7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Then the verse is printed in red letters, turning Jesus, the son of God, into the Lord God Almighty, a second contradiction [denial] of scripture.

Jesus Christ is called the son of God no less than 68 times in the bible!

2 John 3
Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

By definition, the person who forged Revelation 1:8 was antichrist [against Christ] who denied "the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ".

1 John 2
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

In verse 22, this word "denieth" [used twice!] is the Greek word arneomai [Strong's # 720], the exact same word used in Jude 4, which irrefutably verifies that the forger of Revelation 1:8 is antichrist!!!

This reveals once again who is ultimately behind all the Felony Forgeries against Jesus Christ that are recorded in the bible: the devil.

The Kittel Theological Dictionary of the New Testament is one of the most respected biblical references in our day and time.

"There is nothing else quite like 'Kittel' in authority." - New York Times

"One of the few biblical studies of this generation that is destined for immortality." - Journal of Biblical Literature.

In volume II, page 351, it says, "Christ is neither God in the polytheistic sense nor is he in God in the mystical sense. He is instituted by the one God as the authoritative bearer of the divine office for the whole sphere of the world and its history."

In volume III, page 915, it verifies that the true and correct ancient wording in Revelation 1:8 is Kurios o Theos, "Lord God".

What does the word "Almighty" mean in Revelation 1:8?

Revelation 1:8
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord [God], which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

The only entity qualified to be ruler of the entire universe is the one who designed and created it in the first place - The Lord God Almighty.

I recently had an online discussion with a trinitarian who insisted that Jesus Christ was the Lord God Almighty [Pantokrator] !!

So I researched this and analyzed all 10 usages of the Greek word Pantokrator in the bible.

Jesus is only mentioned in 2 out of the 10 verses, where he is called the lamb and at no point is he ever called the Lord God Almighty.

As you can see for yourself, NOT ONE OF THESE VERSES SAY OR IMPLY THAT JESUS IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.

II Corinthians 6:18
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Revelation 1:8
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord God, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 4:8
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Revelation 11:17
Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

Revelation 15:3
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

Revelation 16
7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Revelation 19
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Revelation 21:22
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

Look at the definition of Pantokrator "unrestricted power and absolute dominion" and compare that with this verse:

John 5:19
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

By definition, Jesus Christ cannot be the Lord God Almighty.

The only time a man rules the universe is in the movies and cartoons!

1 Corinthians 11:3 [KJV]
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

The forgery of Revelation 1:11

Revelation 1:11 [KJV]
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

The Nestle Greek text of 1904 deletes the entire phrase: "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and," from Revelation 1:11

6 out of 8 critical Greek texts do not have the phrase, "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and," from Revelation 1:11

The Mounce Reverse-Interlinear New Testament (MOUNCE) Greek text does not have the phrase, "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and", from Revelation 1:11

The Douey Rheims bible was translated from St. Jerome's Latin Vulgate text of 390 A.D. -405A.D. & it does not have the entire phrase: "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and," from Revelation 1:11

The Lamsa Bible was translated from the ancient Aramaic Peshitta text from the 5th century & it also is missing the entire phrase: "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and," from Revelation 1:11

The Codex Sinaiticus [see notes above] is missing the entire phrase: "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and," from Revelation 1:11 [go to the box in the lower right corner]

The Nestle-aland Greek text [28th edition] is one of the most authoritative critical Greek texts out there & it is missing the entire phrase: "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and," from Revelation 1:11.

  4. The Armenian bible, translated from an ancient Syriac text in 411 A.D., has the word “God” after the word “Lord”.

  5. The Codex Sinaiticus, the oldest complete Greek New testament in existence, dating back to the 4th century, has the word “God” after the word “Lord”.

  6. The Codex Vaticanus, also one of the oldest Greek New testaments in existence, dating back to the 4th century, has the word “God” after the word “Lord”.

  7. The Lamsa Bible, translated from the ancient Aramaic Peshitta text from the 5th century, has the word “God” after the word “Lord”.

  8. The Afrikaans Peshitta translation has the word “God” after the word “Lord”.

  9. The Companion reference bible says of Revelation 1:8 “The texts read “Lord God”".

  10. 2 different volumes of Kittel's Theological Dictionary of the New Testament verify that Jesus Christ is not God in any sense and the true and correct ancient manuscripts of Revelation 1:8 have the word "God" after the word "Lord" .

  11. All red-letter editions of the bible have Revelation 1:8 in red ink, which is private [one's own] interpretation which the scripture absolutely forbids in II Peter 1:20.

  12. By definition, the person that forged Revelation 1:8 was antichrist [against Christ] who denied "the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ" [Jude 4] because he was born of the seed of the serpent [the devil]. Therefore, the devil is the one behind all trinitarian forgeries in the bible.

  13. There are 3 categories of antichrists:
    1. An antichrist devil spirit
    2. A person born of the seed of the serpent [the devil]
    3. The antichrist in the book of Revelation in the future

  14. NONE of the 10 usages of the Greek word Pantokrator [translated "the almighty] in the bible refer to Jesus Christ; therefore, he cannot be the Lord God Almighty.

  15. The word “Almighty” in the Greek means: almighty; unrestricted power exercising absolute dominion; ruler of all, ruler of the universe.
    1 Corinthians 11:3 [KJV]
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

  16. By the definition of the word "birth" in Matthew 1:18, Jesus Christ's 1 and only origin and beginning was his birth [September 11th, 3 B.C.]. Therefore, he cannot be either the Alpha and Omega nor the Lord God Almighty.

  17. The only entity qualified to be ruler of the entire universe is the one who designed and created it in the first place. This can only refer to the Lord God Almighty, not his human son Jesus Christ.

Conclusion: all biblical manuscripts before the 16th century have word “God” after the word “Lord” in Revelation 1:8. Therefore, this is a deliberate trinitarian forgery.

Anybody whose heart and mind haven't been corrupted by the commandments, doctrines and traditions of men should be meek and humble enough to change their theologies and beliefs to match the rightly-divided word of God.

Revelation 1:11

  1. 9 out of 11 [81%] of the critical Greek texts do not have the phrase “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and”

  2. All red-letter editions of the bible have Revelation 1:11 in red ink, which amounts to private interpretation, which the scripture absolutely forbids in II Peter 1:20

  3. the Codex Sinaiticus, the oldest complete Greek New Testament, dated from the 4th century, does not have the phrase “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and”

  4. The Lamsa Bible, translated from the ancient Aramaic Peshitta text from the 5th century, does not have the phrase “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and”

  5. The Afrikaans Peshitta translation does not have the phrase “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and”

  6. St. Jerome's Latin Vulgate text of 390 A.D. -405A.D. does not have the phrase “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and”

  7. The Armenian bible, translated from an ancient Syriac text in 411 A.D., does not have the phrase “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and”

  8. The Companion reference bible says of Revelation 1:11 “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and” - "the texts omit"
Conclusion: no biblical manuscript before the 16th century has the phrase “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and” in Revelation 1:11. Therefore, this is a deliberate forgery.
